Gauge Hatches
Provide sealed access for tank gauging and instrumentation while maintaining a vapor-tight seal.
Manufactured in Vadodara, Gujarat, India by Pressure and Flow Control Industries since 1975.
Overview
Gauge hatches provide a dedicated, sealed access point on the tank roof for gauging equipment and instrumentation — automatic tank gauges, temperature sensors, or manual gauging tape — while keeping the vapor space sealed from atmosphere when not in use.
PRECON® Gauge Hatches (Model PFCI/GH/2052) give access for gauging, dip measurement or taking product samples from a storage tank. The positive cover assures a tight seal on the tank.
How It Works
The hatch opens when the foot paddle is pressed, which leaves both hands free for gauging or sampling. When the foot is taken off the paddle, the cover closes under its own weight onto the seat.
Applications
- Automatic tank gauge (ATG) instrument mounting
- Manual gauging and temperature measurement access
- New builds and retrofits on floating- or fixed-roof tanks
Choose the Right Configuration
PRECON® Gauge Hatches (Model PFCI/GH/2052) are available in two types, which differ in how the cover seats.
Type 1: Soft Seating
A soft seating surface on the cover seals the hatch opening tightly against the tank. Foot-paddle operated, with the cover closing under gravity.

A metal-to-metal seating surface in place of the soft seat. The same foot-paddle operation, with the cover closing under gravity.
